A conversation with a good friend recently brought some clarity to this idea which has been floating over my head for years now. This interesting dichotomy-yet-relationship between art and spirituality has been a big one in my life. It has brought me much joy and excitement. But it won’t bring me much money.

I had an interesting conversation earlier today with a friend of mine who is/was/has been skeptical of the idea and very existence of postmodernism. For anyone who really thinks this is a question, try and say no sometime.
Awkward, right?
First of all, this may come off as an attack on Calvinism. I don’t want to be offensive. But I find serious problems in the beliefs put forth through the mnemonic TULIP.
So please, don’t be too upset. But try to think through the ideas I’m presenting. They are different, but I will do my best to make sure they are Biblically sound (rather than only philosophically) and well presented. Call me out if they are not.

They are dorks. What’s wrong with them? These people grab onto the idea of God and come to church because they want to be accepted. Great. Good. But why, then, do they become the loudest, most obnoxious, scariest ones? They turn me off, and I’m already in the “club.”
